Arioke, absolute name Ari IV, is an uncolonised terrestrial planet, a failed terraform operation, and now used by Terran corporations as a junkyard.

Astronomy[edit | edit source]

Arioke is located within the habitable zone of its young star, however no native life was found upon discovery.

Geography[edit | edit source]

Arioke is a cold world dominated by arid deserts, with only one small sea on its surface.

Climate[edit | edit source]

Because of the thick atmosphere, mean temperatures do not often vary too much across the planet's surface, less so around the single sea. It is constantly humid, even in the colder deserts.

Physical Geography[edit | edit source]

Arioke's surface holds clusters of large dumping grounds of derelict scrapped parts, mostly from old spaceships. It harbours one small inland sea, ringed by small forest pockets. Besides that, there is not much of interest on the planet.

Plate tectonics are still highly active, spurring volcanic eruptions and other tectonic activity.

Atmosphere[edit | edit source]

Arioke's atmosphere was originally to be modified to support carbon life, but due to resource shortages, the project was never completed, and then abandoned. Although carbon life can survive on the surface of the planet, the atmosphere is much thinner, and is generally uncomfortable for non-native species due to its high humidity.

Resources[edit | edit source]

The planet's resources are not well known, as in-depth studies have not been conducted. However, there is known to be plentiful rare metal deposits, as well as metals that can possibly be scrapped from the ruins. Due to its location, though, little material is actually mined.

Hazards[edit | edit source]

The artificial wildlife introduced to the planet can be very hostile towards visitors. Volcanic activity is not a rarity, and toxic materials can be found within the dumping grounds.
